Our client is a leading financial services organisation, based in Cambridgeshire. Due to a significant contract win, we have been assigned to recruit them a Pricing Analyst, who can provide insight, analysis and performance forecasts which enable the business to make informed pricing decisions.

The post will be the ‘Pricing Knowledge Expert’ for an account, covering a range of products including Car, van and home insurance, to support the delivery of the pricing change agenda and wider group strategic priorities.

Scope of Role
• Performance management: Monitor and track the results of price changes linked to their intended outcomes.
• Proposal development: Working alongside the Pricing Manager, create pricing proposals that enable the business to achieve its objectives and strategic goals.
• Pricing change delivery: Responsible for the build and implementation of approved price changes, ensuring that the speed and quality of delivery is managed effectively.
• Relationship management: With pricing responsibility for a partnership, you will establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) and utilise clear communication to deliver results.
• Production of analysis and insight: Using your data handling skills produce high quality pieces of analysis which provide accurate insight into a wide range of areas.

Key Result Areas
• Analyse the performance of price tests and other pricing activity, ensuring it is in line with business goals and optimised.
• Maintain timely updates to pricing monitoring tools
• Support the delivery of new pricing models, by:
o Ensuring assumptions used are up to date and relevant
o Understanding the main components within the model and any new developments o Support adherence to the model maintenance schedule
• Produce monthly pricing proposals and reporting packs
• Provide insight, analysis, and interpretation of results with clear recommendations for action
• Attend and contribute to internal and external pricing decision forums
• Report and present results of technical analyses to relevant stakeholders
• Build and buddy prioritised price changes and ensure they are delivered in-line with requirements.
• Ensure changes are delivered following established controls and procedures
• Report any errors as appropriate and support the development of controls to prevent repetition
• Build strong working relationships across a wide range of functions (e.g. Finance, Marketing, Account Management) and with external partners.
• Provide pricing guidance and support to business stakeholders using clear communication
• Support the Pricing manager with a broad range of requests for insight, requiring data handling, analysis and interpretation.
• Develop and improve Pricing’s ability to add insight to the business by maximising the potential from the software and data tools available

Skills and Experience
• Experience of using analytics in a commercial environment and a keen aptitude for numbers, analysis and data interpretation.
• Proficient user of analysis/data handling software e.g. SAS, SQL, Access and Excel

• Able to prioritise workload under pressure to meet tight deadlines • Passion for using analytics to unlock insight and the drive to see solutions through to delivery
