Quality Engineer required on a contract basis to join an industry leading manufacturing business.

Do you have a thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, certification principals, and ISO9000? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the contract role for you!

You will conduct investigations and analyses which contribute to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment that ensure quality standards for parts and prime products. You will provide technical support for a commodity or commodity grouping of similar products by leading on quality development and certification of processes, cost reduction, production quality problems resolution, and warranty reduction.

Key responsibilities:

* Quality Assurance responsibilities in assigned areas, including product test procedures and specifications, performing audits, improvements of products reliability and customer satisfaction through support of the NPI (New Product Introduction) program and resolution of metallurgical grief for steel/forgings at supplier or plant levels.
* This position develops plans and tools that are used for internal quality certification for both the implementation of MQ12005 and MQ13005. MQ12005 implementation will primarily align with production system and realize the synergies of production system during the implementation of MQ 12005.
* Implementation of MQ12005 will also align with the corporate requirements of the successful implementation of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) tools.
* Work with all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through quality manner such as daily coaching, tracking CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) projects & Scorecard, providing quality support if any poor results or negative trends occur, developing IQC training programs, providing training courses of quality specifications to employees, conducting internal quality audits, facilitating management reviews, etc.
* Implement the Idea Generation Process and Corrective and Preventive action processes by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons and spot check, explain the validation reasons, and encourage all employees to make contributions to achieve zero defect in operations.
* Be a coordinator between related teams when there are issues or roadblocks during implementing CQI projects and actions generated from the Idea Generation Process, and track its implementation progress.
* Incumbents coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development, New Product Introduction (NPI), prove design to production, engineering changes and deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, and meeting cost reduction goals.
* Be proactive to develop quality related control methodologies and systems such as Cost of Quality control company-wide. Encourage the implementation of the established systems. Analyze and solve problems occurring during implementation.
* Actively support 5S/Lean Manufacturing/Class A and SAP and on going support, to help area owners set up goals and integrate 5S/Lean Manufacturing Practices with Internal Quality Certification system through standardization and documentation.

Experience required:

* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Manufacturing with an excellent understanding of quality management practices or equivalent relevant experience.
* Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment or in the quality field is desired.
* Requires a thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, certification principals, and ISO9000 etc.
* Requires strong communication, cooperation and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially with leadership management employees.
* Requires quality tools knowledge and to be able to teach manufacturing/office employees how to properly apply quality tools or techniques.
* Advanced computer applications, good oral and written communications skills are a must.
