The Oracle e-Business Finance Architect will have strong delivery expertise, having led multiple new implementations of the Oracle Financials suite in various businesses. He or she will have a strong business analysis and consulting experience, the ability to provide a detailed work plan, and can work closely with the project manager and client team to create end to end solution that meets overall business requirements. The solution should consider performance, scalability and proper use of products.

Oracle e-Business Finance Architects are primarily engaged in the following situations:

Participate in CRP to

engage senior client staff (business and IT) to understand business procedure, analyse and define their needs, and subsequently to define the solution and high-level architecture to meet these requirements

Lead workshops and prepare a functionally feasible solution

See through to the successful delivery of the solution

Provide the following technical services:

integration (internally between Oracle products and with Legacy)

data cleansing

data migration

job scheduling

Research new technologies, undertake Proof of Concepts and present alternative solutions to the client. Translate solution architecture into viable Oracle-based functional designs utilizing and exploiting the Oracle product capability

Provide design oversight, technical governance and leadership to the project team

Lead team to carry out phase reviews in the following areas:

Design Reviews - verify that a detailed technical design is consistent with the functional specification

Pre Implementation Reviews - verify that the system is compliant and sustainable with technical requirement and technical needs are addressed

Post Implementation Review - verify that the implemented system is functioning in accordance with the detailed design

Work with Project Manager / Solution Architect to

Ensure that the technical architecture is feasible and will meet the business requirements

Define the delivery approach by providing input to estimates and resource planning required to deliver the proposed solution

Support project management in exercising risk management practices, and provide input to the risk register; take steps as part of the design process to reduce risk (e.g. In project execution or production operation)

Promote development of functional expertise in the delivery team, including finance awareness and transfer expertise to the client


Lead the deployment of the system and functional design

Conduct and lead design activities; prepare flows, models and use cases.

Provide multiple feasible alternative solutions to complex technical issues

Design solutions using SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Script, Java, XML, JDeveloper, Oracle Reports/Forms, Oracle Workflow, Oracle BI Publisher, APEX, AME, OBIEE.

Specify Forms as well as Web based User Interface.

Quickly fix program code by visual inspection or by unit testing

Solution using Oracle Workflow and public and private APIs and open interfaces

Design database tables, views and sequences and maintain data within them

Provide finance leadership to the project's technical resources

Provide functional input to project management

Provide Quality assurance of Test Strategies, and key design deliverables for System and User Acceptance testing

The production of functional design documentation such as CV050s, MD050s and RD010s.

skills and qualifications

MSc, B Engg or MBA in related field

Minimum of ten years’ overall experience in a functional lead role

Team leadership experience

Operate independently and in a self-sufficient manner

Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technical requirements: SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Script, Java, XML, JDeveloper, Oracle Reports/Forms, Oracle Workflow, Oracle BI Publisher, APEX, AME, OBIEE.

Must have good experience translating business requirements and design into feasible solutions

Knowledge of Oracle R11i/12 with in-depth functional knowledge of core Oracle EBS Modules essential

Technical knowledge of Oracle EBS tables and APIs essential

An expert in designing forms customisations, personalisations, XML Publisher reports, interfaces, and conversion programs.

Well versed with Oracle modules of GL, AR, AP, FA, CM, SLA, E-TAX, Advanced Collections, Inventory, ASCP, OM, Pricing, BOM, WIP, Projects
