Our client are a well-known and successful Tier 1 automotive supplier, assembling and supplying exterior parts to key OEM's. They now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to join their team in Liverpool, to manage new product/ vehicle launches.

This person will have the unique opportunity to manage a small team through the entire programme lifecycle from inception through to development and final launch into the OEM plant.

The Role

Lead a cross-functional team (of approx 4) to deliver the Programme deliverables on time and to budget.
Manage the programme budget. Monitor capital spend and approve expenditure.
Lead the Programme Launch Deliverables in accordance with APQP, PSW and the Launch Gateway Review Process.
Customer management (OEM) and liaison on a regular basis, and visiting client site where necessary (sometimes abroad).
Planning and managing own objectives and programme plan.
Lead the shop floor launch readiness reviews in each functional area of mould, paint, and assembly to ensure a flawless launch.
Prepare detailed reports or figures as required including KPI’S.
Drive customer requirements
Facilitate understanding of customer requirements through effective team management and inter-departmental communication.

The Candidate

Strong experience of Project or Programme Management
Automotive industry experience is highly beneficial, but experience within a similar environment would be considered (e.g aerospace)
Experience managing a product/vehicle launch would be highly desirable, though not essential.
Strong commercial awareness, and experience managing programme/project budgets
Direct experience of APQP, PPAP (including Control Plans, PFMEA).
Strong team management skills, and the ability to build strong internal relationships within the team and cross-functionally.
This will be a very customer facing role - the individual must have strong customer management experience, ideally dealing directly with OEM.
Have an understanding of the 8’D Process, 5 Y, Fishbone, Corrective action processes.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
