Are you an experienced support worker looking for that next step? Do you have passion and drive for working in care? Are you active and hands on? Then read on, as this job may be the perfect fit for you.

We are currently working with a fantastic nationwide care provider in the York area to find them the ideal support worker for their service. As a support worker, you would take the lead in the day to day care and organisation within a supported living service for an adult on the autistim spectrum. This service is an interactive service where you are encouraged to build a strong rapport with the service user, enabling them to achieve their short term and long term goals. As a support worker, you will be responsible for all elements of care, from accessing the community to personal care.

The service operates on a 24 hour basis, so you must be flexible with regards to your availability. Weekdays, weekends and sleep ins are all part of the job description. While flexible working arrangements can be put in place for those who need it, our client and their staff team all share the ethos of doing their bit, so you must be willing to muck in. We currently have hours vacant for a 28.75 hour contract or 37 hours, dependent on your preference. (Extra overtime is usually available if you need additional hours).

What do you need to apply?

* At least 12 months experience in a similar environment, ideally working with adults on the autistic spectrum
* Flexibility in terms of the days and hours you can work
* An outgoing and interactive personality

What does the role offer you?

* As a permanent position, the role pays around £8.20 per hour and a flat rate per sleep
* The chance to take that next step as a support worker and directed career progression into management within a nationwide company
* Opportunities for further training and development
* Competitive pay, frequent reviews and staff discounts
* 25 days annual leave per annum
* Central York work environment (easily accessible via public transport/on-site parking)
