Role: Payroll Administrator

Location: Bolton

Reporting to: Payroll Manager

Salary: 18k per annum, negotiable plus 23 days holidays + BH, pension and healthcare scheme, free parking.


As part of the payroll team you are responsible for the day to day processing of the high volume payroll ensuring accuracy and efficiency at all times. This includes input of payroll data, checking and running the payrolls and payroll administration. This is a brand new role due to expansion of the team.

Key accountabilities

• Input of payroll data to strict deadlines and ensuring accuracy
• Checking of payroll outputs
• Running the payrolls
• Ensuring that colleague and HMRC queries are dealt with efficiently
• Issuing pay slips and payroll reports
• Inputting colleague expense claims where required
• Raising cheque and BACs payments
• Administration updates on absences including sick and maternity pay
• General administrative tasks, database entry, filing, scanning, etc..

Skills/ competencies

• Experience of working within a payroll team is essential
• Good all round administrative skills
• Accurate data entry skills, strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, problem solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good organisational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines
• Ability to prioritise tasks
