Purchasing and Planning Assistant / Purchasing and Planning Coordinator – Bridgwater - £16-18K DOE

My client, a successful manufacturing company based in Bridgwater is looking to recruit a Purchasing and Planning Assistant / Purchasing and Planning Coordinator / Stock Planner. Reporting into the Purchasing and Planning Manager, the successful candidate will have either planning and / or purchasing experience and be working in a department of three:

The Purchasing and Planning Coordinator / Assistant Duties will include:
- Dealing with operational paperwork and ensuring it is checked and then filed away so that it can be easily located during customer audits.
- Input production statistics to create information to enable the factory team to monitor progress on each shift and overall factory effectiveness.
- Maintaining production consumables at set levels and re ordering when necessary to ensure 100% availability. Liaising with the warehouse regarding stocks of tape and pallet wrap and placing orders accordingly
- To check and delay or pull forward purchase orders as necessary for the smooth running of the production plan.
- To provide cover when Purchasing and planning manager is out with regard to the production plan, including the creation of ongoing works orders etc.
- Closure of works orders and investigation of any stock issues on them.
- Receiving deliveries onto the computer system.
- Maintaining the non conformance system and liaising with suppliers to sort out corrective actions and debit/credit notes where applicable.
- Physical stock control of sundry and non-stock items to maximise availability whilst keeping stocks low.
- Maintaining the CHEP pallet system ensuring accurate stock movements are made with frequent checks to confirm we are keeping up to date with

The successful candidate MUST have:
-Previous Planning / Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
-Word Processing software / Spread sheet experience
-Must be able to work on your own initiative and meet deadlines

Benefits - Salary for this position will be £16 – 18,000 dependent on experience. Hours Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5.15pm, 1 hour lunch (working 37.5 hours per week). Free parking, pension.
