An exciting opportunity has arisen with West Suffolk Councils. We are currently looking for a Families/Communities/Patient Engagement Officer to come and join our team. We are advertising a full and part time position for this role on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. You will receive a competitive salary of £30,785 per annum (pro rata).

The West Suffolk councils and the NHS have been working together to deliver ambitious change and transformation projects. We are committed to supporting families and strengthening communities to enable them to become more resilient.  These posts will hold the Health and Wellbeing specialism and focus on patient and public engagement. We are looking for a talented Families/Communities/Patient Engagement Officer to join our Families and Communities Team in this exciting role across the councils and the NHS.

More about the Families/Communities/Patient Engagement Officer role:

As well as supporting community development in a market town and surrounding villages, the successful candidate will also have responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of the CCG’s patient and public engagement strategy.   You will work with a range of patient, public, voluntary and community groups; plan and attend engagement events; and prepare briefing papers for the lay member for patient and public engagement.

Skills and experience required of our Families/Communities/Patient Engagement Officer

You will have a strong professional track of working in partnership to make a real difference to local communities. The successful candidate will have excellent relationship building, communicating and influencing skills, as well as organisational and project management skills. Experience or an awareness of working in a political environment or the NHS would be beneficial.

We are looking for a strong team player who will identify opportunities to improve outcomes for our communities and patients. You will have the drive and skills to work independently, yet contribute to the delivery of the wider agendas of the West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group and Council. You will also have experience to demonstrate that you understand the value of working with a wide range of partners (public, voluntary and private sector) to improve the quality of life in the area.
