The purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is new product introductions, continuous improvement projects, OPEX cost reduction projects and ongoing production support. The Manufacturing Engineer will be the single point of contact to R&D, Production, Continuous Improvement and the Quality functions for all technical issues.

Main Tasks
• Manage delivery of projects, on time, to agreed budget.
• Ensure the production lines are in a safe working condition at all times (in collaboration with Maintenance and EHS)
• Ensure projects meets all mandatory requirements with Directives / Regulations, and other Quality requirements that apply.
• Ensure all documentation relating to project is developed for projects.
• Line Efficiency / First Time Yield - Working with others to ensure line efficiency and first time yield is within agreed parameters.
• Unplanned Downtime – Work with others to ensure that all projects are delivered with TPM considerations taken into account.
• Ensure all changes are fully documented and recorded for your area of responsibility
• Inventory Reduction - aid in the lean flow projects to reduce inventory requirements.
• In collaboration with QA work on the resolution and corrective actions to customer complaints.
• Fully engage in improvement activity events as directed.

Candidate Specification
Essential Education & Qualification:
• HNC/HND or degree standard equivalent in a mechanical / production engineering discipline
Desirable Education & Qualifications:
• Certified Greenbelt in Lean Six Sigma (Operational Excellence)
• Experience with filling gas cylinders or pressure equipment.
• Experience in Fire Protection Industry.
Essential Experience:
• Minimum 8 years post-graduate experience in a Manufacture Engineering role.
• The job holder will be of sufficient stature and credibility to effectively interface with and influence site team members
• Demonstrable practical experience of Manufacturing
Desirable Experience:
• Hands-on light engineering manufacturing process experience
• Experience of application of ISO9001, ISO 18000 and ISO 14000 systems
• Experience of manufacturing and quality systems within the petrochemical, oil, gas or fire-fighting industries
• Experience of liaising with and managing third-parties in terms of delivering projects.
• Experience with high pressure compressed gas systems.
