A leading, privately owned, chartered building contractor in Bedford have an opportunity for a Bid Coordinator to join their team

Our client are highly successful, have a turnover nearing £200m and have already secured 80% of their turnover for next year.

They undertake work across a wide range of commercial sectors and enjoy ongoing relationships with an enviable client base

As this contractor are privately owned, all employees benefit from the company’s success receiving up to 5% of their salary in a tax free sum every January

The role Bid Coordinator

The successful candidate will work as a Bid Coordinator and will support senior management to identify, bid and win work. Working with an established team you will play a central role in advancing the Company’s image, delivering inspirational marketing projects including pre-qualifications questionnaires, tender submissions and company brochures. (essentially you will be coordinating 3 stages - pre-qualification, tender and interview)

Key Responsibilities
•Working closely with the pre-construction team to produce high-quality tender submissions
•Display a creative flair in their writing and ensuring high standards of accuracy.
•Gather technical information from internal departments in order to compile a bespoke document.
•Assisting with the development of company literature, best practice information and template answers.
•To meet strict submission deadlines
•To continually look for ways to improve their bids

The right person Bid Coordinator
•Exceptional verbal, written and editing skills, and in particular the competency to write in different styles to reflect the nature of the audience

•Construction experience preferred but not essential

•Previous experience within a similar role and a proven track record of managing project teams to deliver complex marketing programmes or activities.

•You will have good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure whilst managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

•Competency in a range of software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and the Adobe Creative suite is preferable.

This role would suit someone currently working either a Bid Coordinator role, a Marketing role or a role where you are writing editing work.

It could also suit candidates who are qualified to A level English standard, went into a different area of construction and would like to work in a Bid Coordinator role


Business or marketing degree preferred but not essential

Minimum A level English


Salary £25-30k + pension + 25 days holiday + profit share
