Our client is a leading financial services organisation, based in Cambridgeshire. Due to a significant contract win, we have been assigned to recruit them a Statistical Analyst, who will join a team of highly-skilled, ambitious and motivated experts who work collaboratively to deliver impactful analysis. Working closely together to develop pricing models, solve complex business problems and identify opportunities.

In Your Role:

• You’re motivated by the intellectual challenge of using statistics and advanced analytics to develop more powerful pricing models.
• Will work with some of the leading experts in insurance pricing who will help you develop your analytical skills even further.
• Work in an environment where the creative and disruptive thinking is encouraged, to find that new analytical approach that will deliver an even more powerful outcome.
• Will get the opportunity to learn a vast array of statistical approaches: from the more traditional approaches (e.g. logistic regression) to machine learning algorithms at the cutting edge of data science

Your Success Factors:

• Fast and efficient delivery of pricing models.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and sound application of analytical techniques, constantly adhering to best practice approaches.
• Constant improvement of pricing models, further enhancing existing pricing methods using creative, innovative solutions.
• Active contribution to the development of new value adding commercial initiatives.
• Learn and develop a deep understanding of BGL Group’s products, distribution and operating models.

Team Contribution:

• We work closely together to develop pricing models, solve complex business problems and identify opportunities.
• Support other team members to ensure deadlines are met.

Skills, Experience and Attributes:

• You may have work experience in an analytical role, where you will have demonstrated your ability to use statistical models to generate business value. Or it may be your first job after leaving University.
• You must be highly numerate, with a graduate, or postgraduate, degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or another analytical subject.
• You are rigorous, quality-conscious, with a desire to learn new approaches and stretch analytical boundaries.
• Confident, self-motivated, with strong communication skills, able to clearly convey complex concepts to stakeholders.
• You have some experience using packages such as SAS, or R to solve analytical problems
