The position of Senior Analyst - Margins is based within the Forecasting and Margins function within the UK Plans and Studies organisation as part of Energy Retail, reporting to the Forecasting and Margins Manager.

Working in a fast moving and increasingly expanding environment you will be responsible for provision of all financial calculations in the highly complex margins area in relation to UK Retail Budgets and Forecasts across all market segments to enable the Retail Management team (UK and Global) to make appropriate operational, commercial and strategic decisions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Senior Analyst - Margins will provide expertise on all margin related information contained within the Budget/Forecast process. More specific responsibilities include:

*Produce UK Retail Budget and Forecasts in line with the overall Iberdrola Global Liberalised business strategy, in line with defined timetable.
*Prepare summarised P&L for retail gross margins by market segment with informative commentary to meet specified deadlines.
*Develop a deep understanding of margins and profitability within Energy Retail, across all market segments and margin components.
*Produce outputs and analysis for the Head of UK Plans & Studies on actual performance against Budgets and Forecasts.
*Ad-hoc analysis in relation to Senior Management requests relating to profitability.
*Produce weekly/monthly reports for Senior Management in line with appropriate timescales.
*Deputise for the Forecasting & Margins Manager where appropriate.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
*Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a professional qualification preferably in a numerate or business related subject
*Highly driven and focussed with strong commercial, financial and due diligence skills
*Proven track record of precision, accuracy and attention to detail
*Ability to work to tight deadlines and within a highly pressurised environment
*Experience in developing robust financial analysis and presenting this in a clear, concise and summary format to Senior Management and Director levels
*Highly evolved interpersonal and communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation
*Ability to build relationships and influence across a wide range of stakeholders.
*Self-motivated with ability to manage time effectively
*Good practical knowledge of IT desktop tools and advanced spreadsheet modelling skills.
*An orientation towards teamwork is essential

MINIMUM CRITERIA
*Commercial delivery experience
*An understanding of electricity, gas and energy services markets
*Proven track record of precision, accuracy and attention to detail essential
*Skilled communicator with effective influencing skills
*Highly numerate and analytical
*PC Literate with advanced spreadsheet modelling skills
