The Client

We are currently seeking a Bid Manager for them to manage key, high value tenders and proposals.

Job Description

The S3 Line of Business is undergoing an expansion transformation within the wider UK business creating a number of exciting opportunities for suitably talented and motivated individuals. There is an immediate need for a Bid Manager to produce winning bids & proposals, applying best practice, formulating bid strategies and driving bid teams to find winning solutions within the S3 New Business area.

Key Responsibility Areas

- To lead both competitive and non-competitive bids, ranging from tactical follow on business through to multi-million pound strategic initiatives, to a successful conclusion through the application of Company best practice.
- To schedule, plan and facilitate bid activities including Win Strategy, Bid Kick-off meeting, Technical Bid Review, supporting early Business Winning reviews, managing Proposal story-boarding, Red Team reviews and Tender Vets.
- To plan, lead & challenge the cost build-up and pricing process.
- To manage bid teams in identifying risk and development mitigation plans.
- To manage the proposal document development process win themes, outlining, storyboarding, graphics and writing.
- To plan and manage the application of Bids & Proposals investment to deliver bids on budget.
- To schedule and lead the Bid Approval process to ensure that the appropriate level of Bid Approval is secured.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Essential Skills:

- Able to organise and facilitate all aspects of the bid process, tools & techniques
- Practiced in driving and supporting bid teams to deliver on-time winning solutions
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-site team.
- Easily managing multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding environment.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Championing` the use of best people and practice.
- Ability to work with Campaign Teams to capture win strategy and themes and determine how best to flow these into the proposal.
- Supporting negotiations with the objective of achieving a win-win outcome.
- Identifying, defining and analysing complex requirements collaboratively with the customer.
- Driving top down approach to solution development to meet target price, schedule and specification.
- Understanding and communicating the customer`s budget, the acceptable cost of the solution and the value of the opportunity to the customer.
- Proactive liaison with internal and external customers and adapting behaviour to match customers outlook.
