The Role

The role is for an RF/Microwave Electronics Design Engineer and Architect and it encompasses the definition, architecting and design of high bandwidth, high frequency radios; including low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, frequency synthesisers based on multiple technologies, filters and the design of interfaces to software defined radio circuits based on digital and FPGA circuitry. These designs must operate in harsh environments (vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)

The role demands close working with Systems Teams, Firmware & Software developers, Digital Electronics Designers and with other related teams such as Component Engineering, PCB Design/Layout, Mechanical Engineering, manufacturing and others. As a Principle RF/Microwave Electronics Design Engineer and Architect you will report into the Hardware Team Lead and or RF Design Lead with future opportunities to be the RF Design Lead for new programs.

You must also have a solid understanding of design for EMC & RF compliance and be proficient in the complete product development process, preferably for defence products. Previous experience in the design/development of Software Defined Radio (SDR) would also be advantageous.
A solid understanding of RF design software such as Matlab, Simulink, ADS, etc. is essential, along with proven hands-on prototyping skills.
