Electrical Engineer / Electrical Standards Engineer / Senior Authorised Person - Permanent - Glasgow Area - £49,999 - £59,999 + Car Allowance

Toro Consulting Group is actively searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer/ Senior Authorised Person/ Electrical Standards Engineer for a client we represent in Scotland.

This position will make the successful candidate responsible for the management of the EMS (electrical management system) along with the maintenance of our clients NERS Accreditation. Candidates must hold previous experience in doing so in order to be considered for this position. The successful candidate will provide their knowledge to support our clients electrical activities across the organisation to ensure compliance to our clients high standards.

A list of responsibilities are as follows:

*Management of daily tasks and activities including the performance management of the Company Electrical Safety System. This is to ensure compliance in accordance with our clients organisation.
*Responsibility for and taking the lead role on the maintenance of the NERS Accreditation. This is to ensure and to promote safe working practices are being upheld at all times.
*To manage all aspects of NERS activities, implementing and enforcing our clients compliance with current legislation - including processes, procedures and competencies.
*Implementation of best practice processes, procedures and the driving force behind the continuous improvement of the division and organisation
*Responsible for the provision and implementation of DNO/ENA/BS Standards
*Issuing and control of Passport/Competency Certificates (NERS) and Electrical Operational Work on the system, whilst maintaining a database for both.
*To be at the forefront of meetings with Local Authorities regarding street lighting connections and provision of SLAs
*Supporting the Operations Manager, ensuring electrical operational processes meet health and safety standards and national accreditations
*Provide technical and engineering support as necessary, ensuring all Authorised Persons are able to carry out duties. Training and development for authorised persons
*Support the validation of ICP’s for the adoption of Assets into the organisation
*Liaise with ICP’s to ensure the necessary authorisations to work on the our clients Electricity network
*To be responsible for the overall management of the Electrical Safety Management System, ensuring maintenance of our clients NERS Accreditation- this will be at a national level
*Provide technical leadership and knowledge to support all electrical activities to ensure compliance with the company and appropriate industry standards
*Operate as an Operational Control Engineer for switching and Permitry.

Suitable and Ideal Qualifications:

*Degree or equivalent in Engineering
*Professional qualifications or recognised membership e.g. MIET, MImechE - C.Eng, I.Eng
*Experience of electrical transmission and distribution operations at Senior *Authorised Person (SAP) designation
In depth knowledge of operating to national Distribution Safety Rules (DSR’s)
Knowledge and experience of electricity network design, construction, commissioning and operations

Other Experience/ Skills Required:

*Good mentor and leader
*Able to develop standards and procedures and specifications for the Asset *Management of business
*Good problem solving skills essential.
*Ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
*Ability to provide written and oral communication of electrical engineering activity
