Business Development Adviser 

Responsibilities

Working as part of the dedicated business development team you will:

- Actively promote services to employers and the local business support network in order to achieve stretching targets;
- Create and manage business networks, across all sectors locally and where appropriate nationally, resulting in new business leads;
- To keep up to date with LMI (labour market information) and have an awareness of potential opportunities within the Sector to be able to respond accordingly.
- Achieve agreed KPIs, learner volume and meet revenue and growth targets.
- Plan and prioritise sales activities and client contact to facilitate achievement of business aims and optimised sales performance and profitability.
- Undertake direct promotional activities to employers through all communication routes including visits, cold calling and telesales to include cross promotion of all provision.
- Identifying potential future vacancies, and gaps in the labour market to support the Business Development function;
- Support employers to diagnose their training and development needs and produce a Training Needs Analysis;
- Research and present proposals to employers on a range of training solutions, including costs;
- Support the implementation and evaluation of the delivery of the training solutions

- Qualification & Experience

- A relevant professional qualification; (E)
- A proven track record in promotion and sales (in a business to business environment) resulting in achievement of targets to required timescales; (E)
- Experience of delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs; (E)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail; (E)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive level; (E)
- Experience of external stakeholder liaison and ability to network with regional and national partners; (E)

- Knowledge

- Knowledge of, and identification of UK/EU funding and other funding streams and regimes and systems required for quarterly and final claims and audits; (D)
- Knowledge and understanding of the Apprenticeship Reform agenda; (D)
- Business acumen - business and financial acumen to ensure that current and future operations continue on a sustainable and viable basis and can evidence positive outcomes and value in the market in which we operate (E).

- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills; (E)
- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast paced work environment; (E)
- Ability to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated; (E)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with good report writing and presentation skills and confidence presenting to large groups of people; (E)
- Excellent IT skills with experience of word processing/Excel and presentation Microsoft Office Packages; (E)
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse range of people including staff in member/partner organisations and beneficiaries supported through projects; (E)
- Evidence of problem identification and solving abilities (E).

- Other Requirements

- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle - must be willing to travel across the designated geographical area;
- Willing to work outside of core hours; e.g. to attend employer meetings; as agreed /negotiated
