Senior Leadership/Programme Officer - DBS - Lewisham

A youth charity in London is currently seeking a Senior Leadership/Impact Officer. The charity challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time voluntary work as mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they also support pupils growing up in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

Overview of the role -

The Senior Leadership, known internally as Impact Officer (IO), is based predominantly in a partner school and is the primary link between school and the charity. You will be the custodian of the clients culture in the school and will be responsible for managing the team as well as coordinating, monitoring and the evaluating all the activities that the charity provides. The IO is the main communication link to all parties involved.

Responsibilities -

The ideal candidate will play a key role in the management, training and retention of corps members. You will have pastoral oversight for the team and their relationships with those who come into contact with (children, parents, education professionals, funders and other stakeholders). IOs also monitor and evaluate the progress of the company’s corps members throughout their service year.

Hours -

This is a full-time post. Normal hours during term time are 7.30am to 5.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 9am to 4pm (Fridays). During school holidays office hours are typically 9am to 5pm. The post-holder may at times be required to work evenings, weekends or irregular hours if necessary, and should be prepared to be flexible. No overtime is available. Annual leave is expected to be taken during school holidays only.
