Nottingham Womens Centre is run by women, for women and weve been around for over 40 years. We aim to help all women to gain the confidence and skills to achieve their potential and become stronger and more independent. We provide a safe and supportive environment in which women can do this, either by taking part in training or activities, getting support and services, or campaigning and becoming active in bringing about change.

One of the projects we are delivering is called Opportunity and Change, which is part of a national programme, called Building Better Opportunities funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund. We work with partners across the City to support unemployed people who face additional barriers to finding work such as mental health issues, domestic abuse, offending, substance misuse and homelessness. Our specialism is working with women.

Your role will be to help them to put together a plan to help them achieve their goals. We are looking for someone who has experience in working with vulnerable client groups and/or people with multiple and complex needs. Ideally, you will also have a level 3 Advice and Guidance qualification, or be willing to work towards one. We offer a generous amount of leave, opportunities for flexible working, personal development and a supportive working environment that includes access to an employee assistance programme.

The Employment Advisors duties will include:

* Undertake in‐depth assessments to identify clients needs and to create individual plans, goals and targets to address these needs.
* Provide IAG (Information Advice and Guidance) to clients, and help them to engage with other services and interventions where needed.
* Effectively manage a caseload to ensure that each client receives an appropriate level of support and is enabled to progress and achieve their individual goals.
* Support clients to engage in job searching and a range of employability focused activities.
* Support clients to apply for, gain and sustain paid employment
* Support clients to engage in education, training and learning, either provided on-site or external training opportunities.
* Engage with the local community and other support agencies to promote the service and recruit referrals to the programme.
* You will solely be employed to work on the Opportunity and Change project

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

* IAG Level 3 or higher (or willingness to work towards this)
* Experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs and supporting the individual to make a positive change
* Experience of working with unemployed/job seekers
* Experience of delivering IAG sessions
* Experience of developing others skills

Applicants must be willing and able to work outside normal office hours and to travel to appointments across Nottinghamshire.

This post will require an Enhanced CRB check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily disqualify you from acquiring the post.

Due to the nature and sensitivity of the projects client group, it is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9 for the post holder to be female.

This a fantastic opportunity to really make a different in a womans life for the better. Please apply online today to join our small, friendly and supportive team
