This pivotal role will suit an accomplished Project Finance and Claims Manager with experience of EU programme management and EU Finance Management.

Reporting in to the EU Projects Manager you will oversee all financial governance including the coordination of all funding audits, ensuring that project and funding body requirements are met in full. You will manage all aspects of financial claims relevant to this exciting new International Growth Project directed at Midlands based SMEs.

The Role:

To ensure maintenance of a positive cash flow
To share budget responsibility for the financial delivery of EU Projects with the EU Projects Manager, including sign off of project claims
Develop, maintain and administer systems and processes that will support accurate submission of claims
Prepare accurate funding claims and timely submission to optimise cash flow
Prepare monthly and ad-hoc payment schedules to ensure prompt payment to creditors and maintain positive cash flow
Responsibility to ensure project budgets accurately monitored and financial targets achieved
Liaise with sub-contractors and funding providers on technical and contractual issues including eligibility and evidential requirements in order to ensure contract compliance
Coordinate audits of the project contractors to meet contract & funding requirements


Degree level or equivalent professional qualification or a minimum of five years’ experience of EU programme management

Skills / Knowledge/Personal Qualities:

Proven EU finance management
A thorough understanding of EU funding is essential.
Excellent analytical, evaluation and reporting skills
Excellent IT and integrated business technology skills, particularly Microsoft Office
Ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload, being able to manage multiple projects within timescales
Self- motivated with a willingness to apply innovative solutions
Good knowledge and understanding of key agencies, stakeholders and business support programmes available to clients including govenment / public sector and EU funding

This is a Fixed Term Contract until March 2019
