Ireland's leading grocery retail and wholesale company require an experienced Category Manager to join their 'Growing Good Business Agenda'.
Your New Role
As the Category Manager you will be expected to deliver a market leading offer that meets consumer and retailer needs while improving overall profitability. You will achieve this through the development of appropriate category strategies, effective sourcing and supply of products of the agreed quality, at optimum prices, in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be required to take full responsibility of Food to go, Frozen Bakery & roll out of specific brands. Develop and implement Category Strategy whilst optimising Category Performance both Operationally & Financially. You will also develop long term supplier and customer relationships whilst creating and taking ownership of an elite team.
What You'll Need
Strategic thinking and the ability to develop strategic plans for assigned portfolios, conducting extensive research and analysing consumer trends and engaging all relevant stakeholders in the development and delivery of the plans. You will combine and incorporate retailer's views and develop an excellent understanding of operational implications in store. You will have extensive commercial acumen with a strong focus on revenue and profit generation as well as excellent negotiations skills and strong command of developing costs and pricing principles. Your Marketing and Promotional knowledge will be evident and the ability to work in a fast moving and complex environment is a must. You will find yourself handling multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously so you will have to apply learning in new situations. The successful candidate will also be able to develop others, lead and work with cross functional teams as well as impact and influence across the board. - Graduate Education is required.
What You'll Get In Return
This is a key commercial leadership role within the business. It is responsible for the management and guidance of approximately 1/4 of our revenue and margin generation. It requires strong people and commercial leadership in a partnership based organisation where impact and influencing skills are key. The role has a key input into the development of the Trading and Divisional Business strategies and 3 year plans. The role interacts at the highest levels of the organisation and is a key contact with our retailers and customers. Results are delivered through management of a cross function team and through leading across multiple departments. Individuals must be highly achievement oriented and seasoned commercial managers. Remuneration is a reflection upon this role and offers a market leading salary and bonus structure.
