Brand & Business Development Manager - Event Managment
The prime function of this role is to work with the Managing Director to identify, agree and target leads and formulate ongoing business development strategies. In addition to this to develop, package up and sell new event concepts for corporate and private clients. Streamline our client’s media and materials, build brand visibility within the industry and develop marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, pro-active team player and problem solver with a proven track record in business development and brand management. Able to identify, target and approach new accounts. The successful candidate will be working for a high profile event production and entertainment company and will need to demonstrate professionalism, integrity and discretion at all times. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate: Business development, sales and marketing experience. (at least two years’ experience in the events industry preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be clear and accurate when representing the company on the phone, in meetings and in writing. Must have high attention to detail and be deadline driven. Strong organisational, planning and prioritising skills Good business sense, and a thorough understanding of marketing principles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events. Excellent attention to detail Excellent communication skills - verbal and written, including the ability and initiative to work with clients to suit their needs and budgets in order to win work. Ability to work with clients of all levels, including demanding and complex clients. The ability to imagine and develop creative ideas and turn them into workable concepts, in collaboration with other team members. A self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision. The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure. Excellent all round administration skills, with knowledge and experience of using software packages including all Microsoft packages; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with a specific focus on structure and proof-reading.
Roles and responsibilities:
Demonstrate ideas and initiative around plans for market growth. Identify, target, contact and follow up on new business opportunities with a view to setting up meetings. Develop and maintain relationships with new clients to encourage repeat business. Use the existing database of contacts, generate new and repeat business with lapsed clients. Design and develop new event concepts and business focuses, in collaboration with other team members, to include mood boarding, budgeting and delivery mechanics. Organise and attend client meetings and pitches. Design sales tools for new concepts including PowerPoint presentations, eshots and social media channels. Co-ordinate fortnightly newsletters. Regularly update all social media including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and the company blog. Collate and organise all business collateral including photos, case studies etc. Review and refresh current marketing material including newsletters, proposals, pitch documents etc. Continuously update the website; case studies and content. Maintain and expand preferred supplier lists. Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing clients Attend conferences, meetings and industry networking events. Organise promotional events Ensure all clients are kept up to date on new products and developments within the company. Help team members develop their account management and sales skills in line with company objectives.
