Deputy Manager - Chichester

Deputy Manager required to assist the Care Home Manager manage all aspects in the day-to-day running of a residential Care Home, supervision of employees within the home & supporting residents with all aspects of their personal care, health & welfare.

The Deputy Manager will be promoting a caring environment which provides residents with a high standard of personal care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity and rights to privacy, independence and choice are met.

£20,000 - £23,000 depending on experience

Job Description

* The Deputy Manager will be responsible for monitoring standards of care delivered by qualified and unqualified care staff by observation and direct involvement, ensuring that all residents receive quality personal care and that care plans are fully maintained.
* Provide support to residents with Personal Care needs and assist with on the floor duties when required.
* The Deputy Manager will become knowledgeable and competent in managing the Home.
* Assist in implementation of the staff duty rota to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times.
* Assist the Care Home Manager appraise and supervise staff.
* Assist in the training and introduction of new staff and regular competency assessments.
* Responsible for monitoring the state of wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
Person specification

* The ideal candidate will be an experienced Care Worker, ideally with NVQ3 - Essential & working toward NVQ 5- Desirable
* 2 years' experience working with the client group - Essential
* Evidence of up to date training - Essential
* Committed to a system of Continuous improvement
* Committed to a structured approach to training and development of staff
* Understanding of the Care Act and Health & Safety legislation
* Professional, confident and warm personality
* Have a caring disposition
* Leadership qualities, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills.
* Willing and able to provide an out of hours 'on call' service
