£65,000+ OTE & Overrides

SUMMARY

My client is a global events business, due to continued expansion a new role has arisen for a well-educated, entrepreneurial, articulate and consultative sales professional who will have overall responsibility for the in-house sales team of Delegate Sales professionals, responsible for meeting and exceeding departmental revenue targets by recruiting, managing, training, motivating and leading the team

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall responsibility for in-house sales team 20+
  • Managing 3 DS Managers
  • Responsible for recruiting sales talent, managing, developing, training and motivating the individuals that comprise the sales teams.
  • Accurately forecasting, reporting activities and results to senior management.
  • Implementing sales best practices and leading by strong example.
  • Personally developing key accounts.
  • Working with the data, marketing and production to ensure that the audience development and pricing strategy (including VIP programme) is developed and implemented
  • Provide a comprehensive plan on how they will achieve the audience segmentation and share this with production, marketing and sponsorship (to leverage sales in new areas)
  • Responsible for developing and implementing audience strategy for each event, focusing on segmentation, sectors & companies to ensure suitable quality and mix of attendees
  • Write and develop and pitches relevant to different sectors for internal and external teams
  • Work with the marketing and conference production team to ensure the correct pitch is delivered to potential attendees in line with the marketing and production briefing
  • Research and build new contacts to deliver the required audience profile and volume at events
  • Identifies new business opportunities through analysis.
  • Responsible for achieving personal and team sales and account targets.
  • Responsible for achieving team sales KPIs (including but not limited to account contacts, call rates, pitch time, close rates).
  • Accurately forecasts and reports activities, call feedback and results to management.
  • Responsible for conducting performance reviews with team members.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience is required in a conference, event or media organisation.
  • Candidate has a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets with a thorough understanding of delegate sales and sales processes in general.
  • High degree of competence with MS Excel including ability to create and work with simple pivot tables.
