Hays IT are working in partnership with a public sector organisation in Birmingham to recruit a IT Application Packager on a permanent basis.
The role itself is within a high performing organisation with an excellent reputation reporting to its Technical Service Delivery Team to ensure the delivery of an exceptional IT support service across the site.
The post holder will play a key role within a committed IT Support Team. Responsible for packaging, managing, supporting applications and their delivery solutions, whilst implementing IT Services best practices and policies. The post holder will support all applications throughout their lifecycle ensuring strict change control (ITIL) throughout.
As a member of a cross-functional IT support team, the role will develop, maintain and support the IT infrastructure of the area they are aligned to, in order to deliver high quality services to the users and groups that are appropriate to their specific needs.
The successful candidate will have a broad technical background and a strong customer service orientation, they should have significant amount of experience in a large scale, complex computing environment.
The candidate will have an excellent understanding of application packaging, deployment and application lifecycle management.
Packaging primarily for end users and devices running Microsoft Windows 7/ 10, the post holder must be highly skilled and competent with SCCM application packaging methodologies, deployment solutions, continual evaluation and streamlining of processes. A working knowledge of App V 5.x application sequencing and deployments for supported environments (SCCM, RDS, Citrix) is required, as well as the ability to provide technical guidance and development to team members.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to ensure accuracy of distributed information as the post holder will be expected to communicate complex IT technical matters and documentation to varied audiences consisting of technical/non-technical staff at all levels in the organisation.
