£26940 to £30,321 FTE (Course manager) dependent on experience

Access to Music is a private education and training provider for the creative industries with a focus on Music (Performance and Production), Creative Media and Technical Theatre. From September 2017 we will also be offering qualifications linked to the gaming industry.

We want you to join our team of course managers and lecturers to help deliver and develop our FE Level 3 and Level 2 Games Design curriculum launching in September 2017. You will be based at our brand new centre in Hackney College (Shoreditch) and both full or part time opportunities are available.

Working with the Curriculum Manager for Games Design, Animation and Media, you will take responsibility for the development and delivery of our provision, from coordinating resources and managing student activities to developing industry links and course marketing, our course leaders are at the core of the student experience.

If you are a passionate educator with experience in the games industry and would relish the opportunity to develop and lead a unique and engaging curriculum and have the expertise outlined below then we are keen to meet you.

Industry specific experience, skills and knowledge required for these roles are:

  • Broad understanding of the Games industry
  • Awareness of practices and workflow in the industry
  • Experience of 2D and 3D software relevant to Games Art, including 3D modelling
  • Traditional Games Art & Design techniques including concept art and illustration
  • Broad understanding of historical and contemporary art and design practice
  • Understanding of UX and level design
  • Some understanding or awareness of Games Engine

Our course managers are at the heart of our education management team so it’s essential that you are conversant with current professional practices within your field of expertise. You may also have experience of teaching and/or managing in further and/or higher education.

You will also be educated to degree level and will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to obtain one within a specified period. If you have the attitude and desire to work in varied, dynamic environment and believe in industry-shaping vocational provision then we can guarantee you will play a key role in our success.
