Location: Bath

Salary: £20,000

Position: Part time, 32 hours per week

Our client provides a range of services to some of the most marginalised members of society, including those affected by homelessness, addiction, domestic abuse, mental health issues, the criminal justice system and long term unemployment.

They are looking for a project manager to manage all aspects of the West of England Works Employment Support Service and to ensure the delivery of a consistently high quality, safe and person-centred service in accordance with our policies and procedures, vision, values and ambitious performance targets.

Service Delivery

Within agreed areas of service delivery:

  • Provide planning, leadership and direction, meeting statutory and organisational quality standards
  • Maintain service performance to agreed targets
  • Actively market and promote the service
  • Reflect the organisation's high priority for client empowerment by identifying and promoting opportunities across all areas of decision making, emphasising effective risk assessment over risk elimination
  • Lead the staff team to provide expert support to clients in identifying and progressing their needs and personal goals to agreed quality standards
  • Establish effective working relationships internally and with external agencies maximising opportunities for clients and building a positive service and organisational reputation
  • Ensure that you and your team work within the safety guidelines established for the service to include Health & Safety and Environmental Health legislation
  • Be the Health & Safety representative for the service

Staff & Volunteers:

  • Lead the effective recruitment, induction and ongoing support / development of staff and volunteers as relevant
  • Build an effective and motivated staff and volunteer team promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Develop a learning and best practice culture within the service
  • Ensure that the appropriate levels and quality of staff and other resources are available to meet the agreed service standards, and in particular that a robust staffing exists at all times. The post holder will be expected to provide additional cover if necessary.

Financial and performance management:

  • Assume personal responsibility for income and expenditure for your service.
  • Work with finance colleagues to devise and manage the budget.
  • Actively manage income and expenditure throughout the year continually seeking opportunities to innovate and improve efficiency in service delivery
  • Contribute to developing, improving and growing organisational business performance to ensure sustained commercial viability of the broader organisation
  • Develop and manage monitoring systems which demonstrate the usage and achievements of the service for your team, the organisation and external audiences

New Business Development:

  • Work with the Business Development Team to contribute to successful tenders and fundraising projects for new and existing services and to take forward new initiatives.
  • Work with colleagues collaboratively to build market share in line with the organisations strategic objectives. Build mutually beneficial alliances with the private, voluntary and public sectors

Partnerships:

  • Professionally represent the service and organisation at key strategic forums and operational working groups
  • Develop information sharing and joint working protocols with relevant agencies to ensure a seamless and coordinated service for service users

Other Tasks

  • Work within the organisation's policies and procedures, and in particular work in accordance with the Equal Opportunities policy and aim to counter all forms of discrimination
  • Provide cover as necessary to fulfil the requirements of your service rota including undertaking unsocial hours as agreed with the line manager
  • Carry out, within reason, any other duties necessary to achieve the smooth running of the service and undertake other organisational duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities
