A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Qualified Dispensing Optician on a full time, permanent basis in a very busy practice in the Swansea area. I am recruiting currently for a well established practice, part of one of the UK’s most trusted optical brands. This practice is based on a busy High St and has a large and loyal customer base. They have a very friendly and welcoming team in place that all support each other to deliver the highest levels of customer care.

Responsibilities of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on best options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice. For candidates with suitable experience can also take on supervisory responsibilities offering support and training where needed.

Requirements of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

As a qualified Dispensing Optician registered with the GOC and good with people you will work as one of the primary dispensers on the shop floor. You will be on hand to help members of the team with any difficult questions and general trouble shooting. As a member of the stores clinical team you will have a valued input with best practice and clinical compliance. You’ll be friendly, polite and helpful, comfortable working as part of a team and able to answer questions and queries thanks to your excellent ophthalmic knowledge.

Compensation for the Qualified Dispensing Optician

For your efforts a competitive basic salary ranging from £20,000 to £22,000 is on offer and is dependent on your experience, along with a strong bonus scheme and additional benefits such as professional fees paid and 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
