My client has a small group of practices within easy reach of each other and having been established for many years now requires an experienced optical assistant to be based in Erdington but have the flexibility to work in one of the other practices if circumstances arise for sickness or holiday cover.
MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS OPTICAL EXPERIENCE!
Optical Assistant Position
The practices have a relaxed but professional and welcoming feel with working hours of Mon To Fri 9 to 5.30 Sat 9 till 4 and you are not pressured as there are no sales targets or head office interference.
They have a good mix of private and NHS and all practices have a friendly and welcoming long serving optometrist in place as well as an experienced receptionist to leave you the time to do the dispensing.
*They are closed over the Christmas period.
Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant
The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will be a part of the role on occasions but more importantly working together for the smooth running of the practice.
Requirements of the Optical Assistant
My client is looking for applicants with at least 1 year of experience as an Optical Assistant ideally within a similar environment with customer care a major part of why they have been recognised as the place to go for eye care. The ability to dispense to all levels is essential with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
Compensation for the Optical Assistant
For your efforts a competitive salary of £14,000 – £16,000 is on offer along with additional benefits. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
