To work as part of a team providing a high standard of holistic care for service users in their own home

Main accountabilities of the post
1. Undertake personal care duties such as assisting with washing, dressing and toileting whilst ensuring good standards of hygiene so that members and other beneficiaries are clean and comfortable.

2. Assist at meal times by supervising, serving and assisting with feeding where appropriate, liaising with the external proffesionals such as dietician and supervisors as necessary in order to facilitate a pleasant dining experience for our service users

3. Encourage service users to participate in social activities by assisting with or being responsible for external outings, organising shopping trips or taking responsibility for pre-planned events.
4. Read personal correspondence to servuice users maintaining accuracy, discretion and confidentiality to ensure independence and privacy is upheld.
5. Complete all relevant documentation relating to care needs such as care plans, daily entry and handover notes and take and distribute messages to relevant parties to ensure an accurate record is maintained for service users and information is allocated accordingly.
6. Administer, store, dispose of, record and re-order medication following correct procedures in order to ensure an accurate medication process is adhered to.
7. Assist with orientating service users to attend medical appointments, outings or social events both, to ensure that they are fully aware of their surroundings, providing sighted guide assistance where required, to promote and encourage independence.
8. Report any newly identified problems or issues regarding service users to the office to ensure a consistently high level of care is provided
