Established for 40 years as a group with a housing division 13 years old now, our client have a solid reputation for bespoke properties throughout Middlesex, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
They would like to appoint a Buyer to report into a Chief Buyer based out of thier head office in Wembley, the successful candidate will provide day to day support to the Purchasing function of our housing Division.

An excellent negotiator, an amiable character and good organisation skills will increase this candidate’s responsibilities and accountability. The individual must be confident in working as part of a team with changing/developing duties within a shared office environment. The job holder will be expected to produce high quality outputs, able to work unsupervised, and help this very busy Regional Office to meet its targets and deadlines on a daily basis.

Initial duties will include, but will not be limited to:
• Liaise with our Technical & Surveying Team to provide prices to the Project Surveyor for materials associated with a particular tender or project, to assist with formation of budgets.
• Compiling tender enquiries including scheduling works and checking specifications
• Analysing quotations and putting together cost quotations and analyses
• Obtaining prices for materials, and the subsequent purchasing of materials for secured developments for our Housing Division ensuring compliance with Group frameworks and price agreements.
• Providing relevant information to Senior Management to enable commercial decisions to take place.
• Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well organised work schedule.
• Our Purchase Ordering Process uses our COINS ERP finance system for the administration, collating of information and reporting of all materials purchasing
• Undertake any ad-hoc duties as may be required within the Purchasing function

• Experience as a Materials Buyer for a Residential Housing Developer.
• Ability to work quickly and to tight deadlines
• Ability to work alone with limited supervision
• Communicate effectively and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Computer literacy is essential
• Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
• Previous experience using COINS or other finance systems is not essential but would be beneficial
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• 37.5 hour week. Monday - Thursday, 09.00am to 5.30pm (1 hour lunch). Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (½ hour lunch). However, you may be required to work extra hours at busy times.
• 26* days holiday. Please note, there is an annual 2 week Christmas shutdown, staff are required to hold 7 days from their entitlement
(*Plus Statutory Bank Holidays, usually 8 days)

• Starting salary is dependent upon knowledge and experience within a similar role. Salary will be in line with similar industry standards
