Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Permanent - Preston - £30,000 - Monday to Friday double days (6-2, 2-10)

This is an excellent opportunity for an apprentice trained, multi-skilled engineer to join a leading Warehouse / distribution centre based in Preston.

Role Purpose
To provide engineering resource for implementing Planned Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, Breakdown Support, Continuous Improvement & Modifications.

This position is working on a double days shift pattern (Monday - Friday 6-2 , 2-10) with a salary of £30,000.

Key Duties

To improve machine availability, efficiency and life span
Fault diagnosis & breakdown repairs across production plant & services
To identify root cause solutions / problem solving
Identify continuous improvement, energy saving, cost reduction and efficiency improvements
To drive engineering compliance across all aspects of work
Work across mechanical & electrical trades (as qualified to do)
Support & coach other members of staff where required
To operate on a 3 shift rotating shift pattern

Requirements

Completion of an recognised trade apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
Trade qualified to ONC/BTEC standard
Experience within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector
Experience with machinery maintenance, problem solving and repairs
Able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to engineering, utilising lean tools for efficiency and problem solving.
Knowledge of current legislation e.g. PUWER, DSEAR etc
A basic understanding of PLC controls for fault finding, ideally Siemens S7
Candidates will ideally hold 17th Edition certification
Able to use milling / grinding equipment safely and affectivity
