Mechanical Engineer - West London - 7am - 4pm / 9am - 6pm

£33,000 - £35,000 per annum

The Role

As a General Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure efficient running of the building by providing maintenance services. You will be expected to:

·Ensure all tasks are carried out to the highest standard of customer service and that reactive work is completed on time, within budget and meets Service Level Agreements or KPI’s.

·Build effective relationships with the client, answering queries of a technical and non-technical nature, keeping them informed about site activities and developments, producing action plans with time scales were necessary.

·Act as a point of contact for maintenance queries within the building when needed.

·Ensure compliance for all necessary Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work.

·Assist in the implementation of improvements to Maintenance procedures and systems, making recommendations as appropriate.

·Adopt a pro-active approach to the management of all energy and environmental issues in line with the contract requirements.

·To understand and comply with M&E policies and procedures.

·Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports.

·Carry out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks and complete the associated paperwork.

·Be on a call out rota to provide the client with full out of hours cover.

·Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.

·Supervision of visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety.

·Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting other service providers on the park.

The Candidate

To be considered for our General Maintenance Engineer role, you will have the following skills and experience:

Essential –

·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

·An eye for detail and good design

·Numeracy/literacy and paperwork skills, as well as strong communication and people skills

·Time management skills

·Ability to work both in a team and on your own

·Good IT skills and a familiarity with industry-specific software and modelling programmes

·Understanding of Health and Safety procedures

Desirable –

·A degree accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering (CIBSE) and/or the Engineering Council UK (ECUK) will give you a considerable advantage over non-accredited graduates or a masters (MEng) or overseas equivalent status

·HV Operational

·A Degree/HND course or equivalent in an area such as building services engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering

·To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time.

·To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner. Ensure yourself and team comply with all Health and Safety policies and M&E procedures and processes. Ensure self, sub-contractors and team carry out duties in accordance with all Health and Safety procedures, Codes of Practice and Statutory Regulations.
