My client are one of the leading back up power providers in the UK, providing sustainable and effective solutions for a huge range of blue chip clients.

We are currently working with them on a lucrative opportunity to join their engineering team as an Electrical Design Engineer, taking responsibility for all aspects related to electrical and electronic engineering projects.
You will be based from the company’s state out of the art offices in Greater Manchester, working within a highly experienced and productive team in a superb working environment.

The ideal candidate will be a highly driven engineer with a robust character, committed to finding longstanding solutions that are mutually beneficial for the company and customers alike.

To be considered for the role you should be a competent electrical engineer with considerable technical expertise in power generation, LV/HV Power distribution and health and safety, as well as a background in the technical management and development of energy projects. You should be HNC or Degree qualified as a minimum in Electrical Engineering with a focus on the power sector. Knowledge in other relevant areas such as combined heat and power, compressed air and water treatment would also be considered.

Day to day aspects of the role include:

• Preparing schematic drawings and schedules
• Earthing scheme surveys and design
• Designing electrical interconnection and protection for LV and HV generating sets
• Parts-lists
• Analytical design calculations
• Carrying out, or getting carried out, modifications to installations
• Writing proposals and reports or sections of more complex proposals, reports or feasibility studies
• Liaising with other departments, suppliers and clients on multi-discipline projects
• Managing suppliers and subcontractors
• Presentations to clients on work carried out
