The Sponsorship and Events Executive will be part of the company's corporate events team. The team is part of the wider commercial department and is responsible for the corporate events programme and generating commercial income.

Reporting into the head of commercial development, but working closely with the commercial development executive and the events team, the sponsorship and events executive will be responsible for working across the events and sponsorship teams to help deliver the company's events programme, with joint focus on event management and sponsorship sales/account management.

The role will involve developing proposals and selling sponsorship opportunities, drafting contracts, and managing relationships with partners through pro-active account management. The role will also involve the management of assigned events, either as the overall lead or as a supporting member of wider project team for flagship events.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has experience of sales, account management and events. It is a varied role and as such we are looking for a creative individual with commercial flair and the ability to be flexible, moving between the dual-aspects of sales and events. This role would suit a pro-active team player with excellent communication and people skills.

Area of responsibility

* Generate sponsorship and commercial revenue in accordance with budgets/targets; this may relate to events, dinners, surveys, reports, campaigns or digital activity;
* Work with the commercial development executive and the head of commercial development to identify and develop new opportunities for commercial exploitation;
* Manage negotiations and secure contractual agreements, including the delivery and drafting of contracts, account management and review processes;
* Coordinate and communicate with internal departments to ensure that each element of the agreement is being met and all avenues of opportunity are being maximised;
* Regularly review and update the commercial sponsorship elements of the company website;
* Work with the team to ensure an integrated approach to sponsorship across the company;
* Take day to day responsibility for the delivery of assigned events in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets;
* Take part in flagship event (e.g. annual dinner, annual conference and summit) project teams as required, taking responsibility for elements of the event planning and delivery;
* Ensure that every assigned event has an 'Event Plan' containing a critical path with clear milestones, budget targets, delegate targets and a well-targeted marketing strategy;
* Ensure the provision of full administrative support for all assigned events;
* Provide support for events, including the timely processing of delegate bookings and responses, researching venues and speakers, and attending company events as necessary;
* Prepare event budgets, ensure that costs are kept within budget, manage cash collection efficiently and in-keeping with targets, liaising with the finance department and reporting in to the head of commercial development and corporate events;
* Ensure bookings are processed in a timely fashion and to liaise with delegates and speakers as appropriate;
* Report regularly to the Head of commercial development and corporate events on the status of each assigned event;
* Providing accurate reporting on metric and KPIs for events, producing post-event reports.

Knowledge & Experience

What an individual must know or understand to be able to fulfil the role's requirements

* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Able to demonstrate experience in Business Development/Account Management/Sponsorship.
* Strong experience and understanding of the consultative sales approach.
* Good experience of event management and project management
* Knowledge of the B2B events market
* Understanding of promotional and marketing campaigns
* Experience of managing budgets and expenditure
* Strong knowledge of MS Office packages
