Are you an experienced personal injury legal case handler ready to take on a new challenge and broaden your experience of claims involving non-UK registered vehicles and claims against the Motor Insurance Bureau?

Lyons Davidson is a national law practice of around 1,000 employees operating from offices in Bristol, Solihull, Leeds, Surrey, Plymouth, Cardiff and London, and our associated practice in Edinburgh, Lyons Davidson Scotland LLP. We also have employees based in our onsite client office in Whitstable.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced claimant personal injury case handler/paralegal to join our Claimant Personal Injury (Motor Insurers Bureau) team based in our Bristol office.

Working Hours
The successful candidate will work 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week, between the core working hours of 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Your Role
As a paralegal/case handler in the Claimant Personal Injury (Motor Insurers Bureau) team, you will have the responsibility of managing your own caseload of Road Traffic Accident cases - specifically injury cases claims being pursued against the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) and foreign third parties. Your role will be to provide a specialised service for claimants who have suffered loss as a result of uninsured/untraced/ foreign drivers and you will be communicating with clients, insurers, expert witnesses and solicitors.

Making full use of our in-house case management system, you will use your technical knowledge to handle files from initial instruction through to completion, complying with agreed service standards and pursue claims through pre and post-litigation stages. You will also manage the administration linked to your cases as required.

To enable to you carry out this role effectively it is essential have a good understanding of and running your own caseload of claimant personal injury cases. Whilst not essential as training will be provided, it would be preferable if you also had knowledge of MIB agreements and experience of running MIB claims.

Your previous experience of legal case handling will enable you to make informed logical decisions on the prospects of a case. You will also have experience of working as part of a team and have the ability to use your own initiative and work to strict deadlines.

You will report into a Team Leader who will support and guide you by sharing their extensive technical knowledge to help better your practice.
