This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering company who are at the forefront of an innovative marketplace.

You will take responsibility for leading the planning, management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of engineering projects, ensuring the desired results are achieved and the most efficient resources are used to the benefit of staff, customers and shareholders.

* Demonstrable ability to change or improve the way a business around you works or performs
* Focus on risk management
* Leadership ability – pulling diverse teams together to deliver a common goal
* Project Management Qualification (APM / PRINCE etc)
* Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
* Understanding project methodology, with knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management and of the relevant techniques and tools.
* Understanding of Engineering systems, process, best practice.
* Mechanical / Electrical engineering background preferred
* Some experience working for small to medium sized businesses preferred

1. Agreeing and communicating project objectives (incl. scope, budget and schedule)
2. Representing both the client's and organisation's interests
3. Developing strong relationships with and becoming a key contact for the customer
4. Leading in the adoption of ‘commercial thinking’ in a highly technical environment
5. Driving the project(s) through the company's New Product & Application Introduction, Engineering Change and Project Management processes
6. Constantly seeking to improve project delivery through process change, lessons learned reviews and the provision and adoption of honest feedback
7. To work with the Functional Leads to coordinating the activities and resources required to deliver projects (identifying resources and assigning responsibilities)
8. To work with the Functional Leads to increase the accuracy of resource forecasts
9. To ensure that all the aims of the project are met
10. To deliver on the required quality standards
11. Managing day-to-day operational aspects of the projects
12. Manage project plans, resource requirements, risk registers, project budgets, contingencies and hold regular stakeholder reviews & communications
13. Create and deliver project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
14. To lead in the pro-active management of project risks through identification, assessment, planning and mitigation via workshops and reviews
15. Support the introduction of new designs or applications of the company’s technology
16. Ensure all documentation is in place for introductions of new designs and change control processes have been followed
17. To lead project delivery improvement programmes as required
18. To increase the effectiveness of communication between Sales, Engineering, Production and the Exec
