Desktop Support Engineer - 1st & 2nd Line Support - 5pm - 12:30

Overview:

A market leading Financial requires a Desktop Support Engineer to join their team and work from 5pm-12:30 permanently. The purpose of this role is to provide support to our London office assisting with hardware and software problems via phone, email and in person.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Helpdesk / Desktop technical support
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • Take ownership of user problems, pro-active when dealing with user issues
  • Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems (XP/Win7) and MS Office (2010/13)
  • TCP/IP experience and basic networking
  • Full understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • Flexible, pro-active approach as a proven self-starter
  • Team player who can work under guidelines to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to work on individual projects against set targets

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Citrix
  • Experience/understanding of Sage

Package:
