Prison Mentoring Outreach Worker

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and proactive person, who will provide person centred facilitation and recovery oriented coaching to prisoners. As an Outreach Worker you will deliver well-being workshops in our Beyond Prison Service.

The role:

This role will require you to work in HMP Brixton 4 days a week and from Certitude offices once a week. The main essence of this role is to deliver a 12 week programme to prisoners, to enable them to become Peer Mentors within the prison system. As part of the Healthcare Team you will deliver sessions independently, provide one to one support and facilitate group sessions.

Essential skills:

Effective communicator and motivator
Ability to facilitate groups
Ability to think on your feet, make quick decisions and deal effectively with unexpected situations.
Ability to work within set boundaries


Knowledge or experience within the Criminal Justice system
Preparing relevant reports and documentation
Experience of implementing change


To apply for this role you must have a clean criminal record and will be subject to Certitude and HMP checks.
The role is a 39 hour contract based on flexible office hours.
