Our client based in Penrith, requires a dedicated and professional Head Housekeeper to lead their busy housekeeping department.

This beautiful resort in the Lake District consists of one hundred self catering lodges set in the original buildings of a Victorian Farm, as well as thirty hotel suites. A Head Housekeeper with a keen eye for detail and the continued desire to learn and develop is required to ensure effective and safe operation of the Housekeeping department in achieving 5 star standards of cleanliness across the resort.

Hours: Full time, working over 5 days to include weekends

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

- Consistently achieving high standards of cleanliness and customer care in all lodges, public areas and back of house areas

- Ensuring correct staffing levels in line with business demands and budgets

- Supervising and directing all housekeeping team members, ensuring the highest standards are achieved at all times

- Maintaining effective communication with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the resort

- Maintaining staff discipline, behavior and standards at all times

- Completing and updating all relevant risk assessments and COSHH assessments

- Maintaining the training and development of all staff including all health and safety, COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and fire procedures

- Controlling the department supplies, liaising with suppliers to seek the best quality supplies whilst maintaining the department budget

The successful candidate will have:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Head Housekeeper in a similar standard of resort/hotel

- Exceptional attention to detail

- Outstanding communication, time management, motivational and organizational skills

- A clear understanding of all legislation that is relevant to the role including licensing, health and safety at work, COSHH, environmental health and fire precautions

- The ability to work under pressure whilst always remaining customer focused

- A full, clean driving license
