Reach the People Charity is much more than a care and support provider. We are a social business, a charity geared up to provide real life choices. We do not stop at the standard service delivery, we specialise in delivering a diverse range of services to those in most need within our communities.

The Youth Promise Plus programme is one of the services we provide across birmingham and Solihull, funded through the European Social Fund via Birmingham City Council, delivering specialist support to disadvantaged NEET, inactive and unemployed young people aged 15 - 29 years into sustainable employment, education or training across Birmingham and Solihull.

We now have opportunities available for enthusiastic and dedicated Intervention Workers to join our team on this exciting new contract.

About the role:

You will effectively engage with young people to encourage and support them into sustainable employment, education or training through the provision of holistic support and challenge and mentoring techniques. Primarily on a one to one basis helping them to understand and address barriers to work and setting short and long-term goals. You will also be owrking in partnership with other agencies and services to deliver a joined up service to support young people into employment.

This is an important and varied role which will require you to use all of your proven skills and experience to provide a robust and dedicated employability support service to young people.

About you:

You will possess a robust knowledge and experience of employability and employer focussed job support and can demonstrate a robust knowledge of employment, social and economic issues that young people face.

You will be able to demonstrate and role model essential employability behaviours and experience in motivating others. Have a sound knowledge of partner agencies that support young people in the local area and possess and maintain an understanding of DWP processes and requirements that some young people are likely to be subject to.

Your ability to mentor on a one to one basis will be fundamental to this role.

Intervention Workers will need to demonstrate the capacity to operate at a level commensurate with specific Coach/Mentor NVQ Level 3 accreditation and/or Information, Advice and Guidance NVQ Level 4 accreditation.
