£22,000 - £28,000 pa.

Following a period of investment and growth we are looking to recruit a Graduate Engineer to join a multinational manufacturing group. The position will see you join an established team at the groups Manchester based site.

The objective is to build a career path, starting in operations to then evolve in Supply Chain planning and Scheduling.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to directly to the Manufacturing Plant Manager, the remit of this position is to provide support across all plant operations.

As The Graduate Support Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

Be a key driver to ensure the plant achieves best in class performance status in the areas of Safety, Quality, Service and Cost.

Applies Lean and 6 Sigma tools to improve productivity, lower costs and reduce scrap.
*

Completes Lean-6 Sigma training and training project.
*

Assistance with Capital Projects (Engineering)
*

Assists in conducting Operations Management studies through Plant Assessments and Margin Improvement Process (MPI)
*

Helps develop prioritised improvement action plans, based on assessment findings, which include responsibilities, resources and timing.
*

Supports plant with implementation of Basic Industrial Engineering techniques (SMED, KPI dashboard, OEE,)
*

Supports plant process improvement teams, and manages assigned basic process improvement projects, as needed.
*

Works with plant employees to establish standard work instructions and control plans, for respective projects and events, to ensure long-term sustainable improvements.
*

Obtain a good working knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential: Engineering Degree

Desirable: Master Degree in Engineering;

Desirable: Masters in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Management
