I am recruiting for a telephone based Customer Account Manager working with wholesale clients based on a business park in Erdington, working for one of the UK's largest tyre distributers. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is looking for a sales and customer service opportunity that does not necessarily have that experience but has a passion and strong knowledge of the tyre industry.

THE ROLE
You will be account managing roughly 80 wholesale accounts where your primary purpose is to sell the company's products and/or services through the handling of telephone enquiries. This is both an inbound and outbound telesales/customer service position where you will be dealing with roughly 200 calls a day. This is a varied account manager's position and you will be dealing with the full sales process, from calling customers for orders, taking orders, processing orders, ensuring delivery and gaining payment. There are over 4500 different types of tyres, so industry knowledge is essential. The accounts will be given to you so there is no immediate business development required, you will be expected to service these accounts and develop the business hitting daily, weekly and monthly targets.

THE COMPANY/TEAM
Based in Erdington with a number of distribution depots across the UK you would be working for one of the largest UK tyre distributers. You will be joining a friendly team of 4 account managers, 2 field based business development managers and a team leader.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Make/receive around 200 calls per day covering around 80 warm client accounts you will be provided with
- Manage the full sales process from initial client contact to chasing and receiving payment of orders
- Develop existing relationships and contracts, utilising the field based business development manager if required
- Have regular contact with the customers regarding, Special Offers, Key Dealer Programmes, Competitor Activity, Deliveries, Pricing, clearing down any problems the customer may have regarding overcharges, Credit notes etc.
- Accurate use of the sales / ordering system (Tyre Man/Starman) and following the departments SOPs and policies.
- Management of accounts will include:
- Making sure customers are trading within their agreed credit limits.
- Making sure customers have paid by the agreed dates
- Switch customers on to Direct Debit where possible.
- Dealing with, reporting & providing solutions to problems.
- Placing relevant details onto the appropriate computer system regarding any issue's the customer may have at any given time & ensuring all issues are resolved.
- Providing good quality information & potential ideas/business plans about customers ready for account reviews
- Providing high levels of customer service at all times
- Working towards and managing daily, weekly and monthly sales targets

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- TRYE INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE IS ESSENTIAL
- Sales and customer service experience is ideal but not essential
- Self-motivated, proactive and determined in nature
- Lively, outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic and genuine personality
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships over the phone
- Highly organized and experience of working in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work clever, manage low margin and high margin sales to hit targets
- Confident with working to targets
- Strong MS office skills (word, excel, outlook) is ideal but can be taught

PACKAGE AND BENEFITS
- £18,000 - £20,000 basic annual salary dependant on experience

- Monday - Friday 9-6 with a 1 hour lunch
