My client are a global business situated in Teesside.

Joining the business as they embark on a number of projects, you will provide support with:

  • Providing first level monthly review of actual results and forward projections Project Status Reports (PSRs) and project pipelines, highlighting potential risks/issues to the Finance Manager and Project Accounting Controller.
  • Month end accounting tasks regarding designated projects including revenue recognition calculations under US GAAP
  • Preparation of month end reports
  • Monitoring of billing profiles and supporting monthly invoice process
  • Monitoring of open P.O., aged creditor & debtors
  • Escalation point for Transactional AP& AR issues
  • Delivery and presentation of timely, accurate and compliant project information on a monthly basis
  • To advise the Finance Manager of any known variances or problems of significance which may affect the outcome of a project
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis and provide assistance to the Finance Manager and relevant Contract Management team
  • Liaise with financial reporting to ensure that queries are followed up efficiently and effectively Instigate initiatives to improve results or drive process efficiency for operations
  • To assist in the compliance of Sarbanes Oxley policies and procedures Support periodic internal and external audit processes
  • Oversee month end journals and support the production of quarterly forecast models and annual budget process
  • Involvement in SAP implementation finance related activities as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience of supporting an operational entity in a finance role
  • Experience of reporting and planning cycles for an operational contract
  • Good understanding of finance systems and processes gained in a finance role.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to liaise, co-ordinate and disseminate information to management
  • Good accounting skills
  • Excellent planning and forecasting skills
  • Good understanding of finance systems (ideally SAP) and standardised processes
  • Self-starter and able manage a number of priorities
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel & Word
  • Qualified Accountant with good commercial awareness
  • Experience of working in a Shared Service Environment
  • System implementation experience
