SEN Teaching Assistant Person Specification

For this SEN TA role you must be an accomplished graduate who has previous experience working with children who have special educational needs and earned at least a 2:2 in your degree. You should be able to confidently communicate to both staff and children and thrive in a school setting. You must show the ability to evidence a strong track record of success and adopt a different approach. You must have an empathetic approach to helping students and the ability to amplify the importance of education.

About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role

This SEN Teaching Assistant role involves you supporting the learning of pupils at the school who have been identified as on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). You will be managed by an approachable Special Educational Needs Coordinator who will ensure you get all of the support needed to reach your potential. Your TA role will include working 1:1 with pupils and delivering small intervention sessions. It is important for you to be a patient, calm and resilient individual and to act as a positive rolemodel inside and outside of the classroom.
