Your new company

You'll be working from their head office in Weymouth and will predominantly be working on projects that utilise MS.Net or JavaScript technologies.

This role is open to degree educated or self-taught developers providing you have a strong grasp of Object-Oriented programming and have a desire to work on web based projects.

Your new role
You'll work within a close-knit team and report directly to the Software Development Manager who will provide guidance and extensive training to the right individual. The team are not beholden to deadlines here. It's a relaxed environment allowing more scope for the developers to build high quality software. There's also no rigid hierarchy and bureaucracy, more a self-managing team that shares knowledge equally and architect solutions themselves without the need to follow a spec word for word.

It's bespoke, product-centric work for systems with 20,000 users (growing every day). The system is continually evolving and you'll never be left wanting for things to learn in this role. There has been a deliberate move to multi-tenanted cloud solutions which has provided new Greenfield development opportunities. This position will allow you to introduce new technologies where you can provide justification to do so.

The team work in a hybridised environment, selecting the elements of Agile and Waterfall methodologies which they feel work best internally.

What you'll need to succeed
The company has large code bases written in .Net and JavaScript/TypeScript already, so proficiency in these areas would be perfect. This should be underpinned by a core knowledge of MS SQL and HTML/CSS. Desirable skills include Asp.Net, GIT, XML and any experience working with Microsoft Azure, Amazon A3 or cloud technologies would be hugely beneficial.

If you are skilled in other languages and are interested in cross training to work in this environment then please apply, attitude and hunger are key for the role. If you don't know it, get out there and learn it!

We're seeking candidates with a degree in a relevant technical discipline or those that can evidence this calibre of knowledge attained by other means.

What you'll get in return
You'll join a team with a family environment at an exciting time of expansion. There's parking on site, a company pension scheme and 28 days holiday rising by 1 day per year. The company will fund courses to further your professional development and there's regular incentives or staff nights out to encourage teamwork.
