My client in Maidstone is looking for a Sales Consultant. The post will be office based in Maidstone but with planned trips into the region as and when called for so a car and clean Driving License is essential. You will need insurance to cover occasional business travel. 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays. Hours are 08.30 to 5pm.

Salary £16k to £20K negotiable depending upon experience, plus 5% uncapped commission of all sales in region which will be the counties North of London to incl. Herts,Beds,Cambs,Nothants,Bucks,Oxford & Beds.

Commission in excess of £6k per year will trigger a salary / package review, so that commission doesn’t get out of balance with basic pay.

Whilst presenting theirselves to the market as a training provider their principle business activities are that of a sales and marketing organisation. They identify potential clients within key market sectors and whilst when clients agree to proceed the quality of the training is paramount this stage cannot be reached unless a sale is first made. 

Key function & areas of responsibility:
1) To identify potential clients predominantly by use of the internet and market specific websites . Also by use of trade directories and magazines.
2) To contact these prospects via professional telephone sales methods and identify current training needs.
3) To generate introduction & quotation proposals verbally, by email, fax and letter.
4) Where required to visit clients face to face to further investigate training opportunities.
5) To compute all relevant client notes onto the central Act database.
6) To assist with the administration of the companies training bookings by entering these onto the sage accounting system and generating confirmation paperwork for the client.
7) To appropriately guide potential and existing clients with regards to their training needs.
8) To research clients and competitors as required in order to optimise proposals for best chance of success.
9) To participate in trade exhibitions where required.
10) The key objective through all stages 1) to 9) is to achieve sales / training bookings at the earliest possible stage in the process.
11) To attain agreed set targets by generating new business and managing existing client accounts.
12) The starting region covered by the role will be the County of Kent.
13) To ensure that subject knowledge is developed and maintained via participation in courses, proactive research, and general interest in the training market and core client sectors.

Must have experience in a sales/telesales position and a full UK driving license with your own transport.
