Business Development Manager-Payment Industry experience required
Maidstone
£35k basic + £35k OTE

A business development role to achieve financial targets by introducing, developing and managing relationships with both channel partners and direct customers with a requirement for integrated card payments in an e-commerce or omni-channel environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Self-generating sales leads via business contacts, cold calling and market intelligence
  • Engage with potential customers through inbound or outbound calls and meetings
  • Understand customers' needs and requirements through consultative selling techniques to provide the best solution for each customer
  • Ensure potential customers understand the benefit of the e-commerce and omnichannel product range
  • Upsell additional value added services, terminals, accessories, repair options and other products to maximise revenue
  • Close sales and achieve monthly / quarterly / yearly sales targets
  • Proactively source new sales opportunities from cold calling opportunities
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Use consultative questioning to build rapport and create new sales opportunities
  • Continually maintain and expand your database of prospects
  • Ensure CRM is fully updated at all times and used to organise calls
  • Attend customer meetings/presentations/functions as required
  • Any ad-hoc promotions, campaigns, exhibitions or projects as required

Role:

  • Confidently engaging with resellers to gain integrations to e-commerce platform and integrated terminal solutions where omnichannel sales are likely
  • Providing line management with detailed pipeline and accurate forecast reports; correctly using internal CRM systems and forecasting spreadsheets
  • Engaging and liaising with the Executive Team where appropriate to support the sales process
  • Engaging and liaising with the Product Delivery Team to ensure new integrations are properly supported and completed
  • Maximising the sales opportunity within each reseller engaged
  • Highlighting to the Sales Director any developments that will be required to meet customers' requirements so these can be approved by the Exec Team

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience
  • Internal and external sales experience would be a distinct advantage for this role
  • Previous experience in direct and reseller sales
  • Working as part of and contributing to a target-oriented sales team
  • Confident phone and physical presence
  • Track record of over-achieving KPIs and sales targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening, proposition presentation and closing skills
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM

Desirable

  • Sales training qualification(s)
  • Payment industry experience would be beneficial
  • Experience of achieving high volumes of sales calls per day
  • Previous use of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Producing accurate forecasts and pipeline reports

WORKING CONDITIONS
37.5 hours per week to cover the hours of 09.00 - 17.30 Monday to Friday - flexibility relating to hours and days worked will be needed in order to meet the needs of the business at any time.
