Submission Technology is a well established and successful Digital Marketing company based in Maidstone. We have grown from a small family-run business to a thriving team of almost 50 people. We were proud to be awarded the Investors in People accreditation (Bronze) recently and are actively going for Gold!

We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team of 10. You would be joining a strong, stable team of techies/developers who are in an exciting phase of project development where we are transitioning from an old stack to an exciting suite of new technologies.

We encourage our team to research, learn and implement new technologies. All our developers are expected to join in this process.

Work Environment

You’ll be joining an enthusiastic team in a relaxed working environment with a pool table (regular tournaments), drinks fridge, free fruit & soft drinks with lovely offices situated next to Mote Park.

Responsibilities

You’ll be working on our in-house built lead generation platform, using PHP 7.1+ and MySQL 5.7, liaising with the admin team in addition to your primary role developing new features and fixing bugs/issues. This will include working with our analytics platform (based on Cassandra, Spark, Kafka and Go) for stats and data analysis.

Experience

We’ll expect you to be an intermediate PHP developer with experience in MySQL and knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML / CSS / JS) and the basics of version control (Git, Mercurial). You won’t be expected to initially know the technologies in our analytics platform.

You should have a keen interest in the ongoing development of your skills, including database design (indexing, performance) and Object-Oriented Design (design patterns, refactoring and clean code).

We use a range of additional technologies in our day-to-day work including PHPStorm, CentOS Linux, Sentry (error reporting platform), Composer and PHPUnit.

We highly encourage knowledge sharing with regular “Tech Thursday” presentations and a library of books and other resources available.
