Your new company
Prestigious independent scientific academy are seeking a Diversity manager to join their London office on a permanent basis. The organisation's aim is to recognise, promote and support excellence in science, and to encourage the development and use of science for the benefit of humanity. They are committed to promoting diversity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) by seeking to increase participation from underrepresented groups.
Your new role
Reporting into the section Head, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and activities under the diversity strategy and for working with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that diversity is embedded across all the organisation's activities. As Diversity Manager you have line management responsibility for a Diversity Officer, and with their support you will provide Secretariat to the Diversity Committee, collate and analyse diversity data to produce the annual diversity report and ensure that appropriate evaluation methods are used for all the organisation's diversity and inclusion activities. Relationships and networking with colleagues will be essential to share best practice and develop joint ideas.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to a proven track record of delivering equality and diversity activities in complex organisations. You will have significant experience in working across different stakeholder groups and be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues who can be confident in your expertise. In addition you will be successful at project management and delivery, as well as having a good understanding of equality and data protection legislation. Someone with a knowledge and understanding of the STEMM academic and industry sector is highly desirable.
