Supply Chain Officer

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 + Benefits + Pension Scheme + Bonus

Based in Stevenage

Permanent Contract

Our client is a leading Defence supplier who specialise in supplying advanced technology systems to the global market. Employing over 10,000 people worldwide and over 60% in the Technical/Engineering functions, the company is widely considered to be a pioneer in the development of advanced defence technology systems.

The role is working with a multifunctional team to develop and implement UK sourcing and management strategies for various mechanical categories. The role will include managing the performance of the suppliers in the categories and collating/analysing risk intelligence to prevent risk through the supply chain.

You will be identifying, implementing and managing improvement plans whilst championing a continuous improvement philosophy with the suppliers. This role will provide you with the opportunity to become involved with a highly skilled procurement team who strive for personal and professional excellence. Given the size of the organisation, there will be ample opportunities for development.

Your key skills should include:

* Experience of supply chain management in the Aerospace or Defence Industry or similar environments.
* Knowledge of risk management, identification, analysis, forecast and action planning.
* Effective evaluation of supplier's business, technical, manufacturing, design and TLCM readiness.
* Expertise in relationship management tools and techniques.
* Expertise in Business Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques.
* Strong team skills
* Strong communication skills
* Team player with cultural sensitivity
* IT skills in terms of data analysis, manipulation and presentations
* Additional language skills would be an advantage (French, Italian, German preferred)

Preferably educated to degree level.

Professional accreditation would be advantageous.

Engineering experience/qualifications would be an advantage.

You will need to be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance.

Full training and development is given as part of this role.
